Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Helping A Friend & The Hills!

Good evening Beautiful,
Where do I start. Well, I will start by apologizing because I feel like I’ve been MIA on social media lately. Monday’s are always pretty busy and fast paced for me, I work 9-5, get home, grab some food, drive to volleyball while eating said food, play volleyball, come home eat dinner, and then go to bed. It doesn’t leave a lot of time for conversing with C let alone writing and reading and tweeting and updating, but I’m sure most of you have been there so I shouldn’t feel too badly. I’m going to subhead some things that I’ve been wanting to update you about.
SweatPinkSo it’s been about a week since I’ve become a SweatPink Ambassador with FitApproach, and so far the support has been unreal! I even had a good idea of making a little “spin-off” group for SweatPink Ambassadors in Canada! There aren’t very many of us in Canada so I thought it would be cool to connect on a more personal level. I’m starting to plan a get together as well. I want to bring my fellow ambassadors to GoodLife and do a BodyPump class or a class like that, and then go for a mani&pedi and lunch! I think it would be really fun; we’d wear our “SweatPink” t-shirts/tank tops and take lots of pictures to document the whole experience.
I have been working out every day and it’s been great! I don’t know what to say about them, they’ve been treating me well, but I’m still trying to lose the last 5 lbs…. really, 5 is all I’m looking for. I keep gaining weight because I keep gaining muscle. I took my body fat % today and it was up 1 whole percent from the last time I took it. This could be a number of things obviously, so I’m going to take it weekly just to see how much it changes. I staple the results to the inside of my food journal so I can compare them easily! Here’s my workout from yesterday:
Assisted Pull-ups, 70lbs of help, 10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps (which means this is a good weight for me since I can’t do 10 reps each time)
Dips, 55lbs of help, 10 reps, 3 sets
Lat Pulldown, 70lbs, 8 reps,  3 sets (a good weight!)
Lateral Raise Machine, 50lbs, 10 reps, 3 sets (need to up the weight)
Dumbbell One Arm Row, 22.5lbs, 10 reps, 3 sets
Bicep Curl with Dumbbell, 12.5lbs, 12 reps, 3 sets (much too light… up this weight)
Kettlebell Swings, 16kg bell, 20 reps, 3 sets
Leg Raises for Abs, bodyweight, 20 reps, 2 sets
Stability ball crunches, 12.5 dumbbell on chest, 20 reps, 2 sets
Stepper, 15 minutes, level 9
Then I played beach volleyball for 1.5 hours in the rain. FUN times! A bit chilly though. My workout today was this:
Squats, hold 2x10lbs dumbbells, 10 reps, 5 sets
Lunches, hold 2x10lbs dumbbells, 10 reps, 5 sets on each leg
Leg Extension, 85lbs, 10 reps, 9 reps, 9 reps
Leg Curl, 100lbs, 10 sets, 3 reps
Glute Raise/Hamstring Curl on Stability Ball, 10 reps, 3 sets
15 second plank, 15 second rest and repeat for 5 minutes
Stepper, 20 minutes, level 8
I was going to go do some more cardio tonight, but I’m feeling ok with todays exercise and food intake, and I do have to write this blog, do some networking, do some actual work, paint my nails and make dinner!
My blood sugar has been going low a lot lately, which means I have to drink some fruit juice when that happens and I get crazy cravings. My cravings have been 100% paleo, but do not help in my calorie consumption for the day! I usually munch a Coconut Cream Lara Bar, or an apple with sunflower seed butter. Other than that I haven’t cheated, even though I’ve wanted to on many occasions. Good thing there isn’t any food for me to cheat with in my house. I just picked up some fruit so I have something to nibble. Tonight I’m making bacon covered scallops. I was really excited to make this, well I still am, but C went out for dinner because his friend is in town so he will not be able to enjoy the goodness that will be my bacon covered scallops. ALL MINE
J! Check out how they turned out…..

Sweet Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Onion and Garlic!
My water intake has been great since I got my new fancy water bottle!! I really enjoy drinking out of it, which makes drinking out of it that much more enjoyable!
So today when I got to work I looked at my phone and I had 1 missed call. I checked my voicemail and it was my bank calling saying that I needed to call them because of some fraudulent purchases on my credit card. I figured it was important so I called right away. Turns out this morning my credit card was used somewhere in the states that I didn’t purchase so they cancelled my credit card right away and told me they were going to send me another one in the mail in about a week. I’m not sure if I’m going to activate the new one right away because for so long I’ve wanted to pay off my credit card, and many times I’ve been close but haven’t succeeded in the goal. If I don’t have a credit card, I have no excuse but to budget properly and spend only the money I actually have, right? I’m taking this as a sign to get rid of my credit card. I have a couple others in case of emergency, but I don’t keep them with me, and I don’t know the credit card number (I used to have my MasterCard number memorized so I didn’t need to have it with me if I was shopping online. Dangerous.) so I’m going to go as long as possible with no credit card. WISH ME LUCK! I might be able to cross off one of my goals sooner than later!
Some other fun and inspiring news… Remember Jenny? Her and I did TRX together last week and I posted about it. Well, tonight she asked me if I’d be her non-biased, non-nagging, health oriented friend that helps her 1. Get into better shape, 2. Keep her motivated and 3. Help her STOP SMOKING! Isn’t that SO exciting! I’m so excited for Jenny. I can tell she really wants to make the change, but I also know it’s going to be hard for her, like it’s hard for anyone who’s quitting smoking. She sent me a link to this booklet of how friends can help other friends quit smoking and I’m going to read through the whole thing tonight. We haven’t set an official date as to when she’s going to quit yet, but I am so excited to help her make this huge decision in her life, that I couldn’t help but write about it! If you want to show her some support, leave a comment for her and she’ll see it because I know she reads my blog! And if she doesn’t, I’ll ask her to check it out J.
Stay Sweet.
