This Week's Workout Goals

Good evening Beautiful,
I hope you had a great weekend!! I had a fun weekend, but I have to admit something….. I didn’t work out at all, and I wasn’t strict with my diet. FAIL. My company’s Awards Gala is about 3 weeks away (it’s the same weekend as the Toronto canfitpro conference!) and I need to crack down… HARD! I have some plans, and I’m telling you NOW so that I don’t stray away from them. It’s a lot easier to make and keep a goal when it’s written down and real, so before I dip into the highlights of my weekend, my goals for this coming week in terms of fitness and diet are:
Monday – workout twice, upper body in the AM/Lunch and 1.5 hours of beach volleyball in the PM. My food is already prepped and ready to go. I’m taking one of my clients out for lunch downtown tomorrow at E11even, and I’ve already looked over the menu and have decided on a steak salad for lunch, it seems reasonable.
Tuesday – I have a TRX session in the afternoon, and nothing once I get home from work, so I’m going to aim to do 30 minutes of just cardio in my condo gym since I’ll be doing a full bodyweight workout for my muscles during TRX. I’m back in the office on Tuesday for the rest of the week, and I like that because I’m really strict with my diet when I’m in the office. I only eat what I prepare in advanced to take, and prepping in advanced makes me feel healthy so I only ever take paleo friendly foods to work with me.
Wednesday – I have another TRX session in the afternoon, so I’m aiming to do another 30 minutes of cardio when I get home from work. I don’t ever do more than 30 minutes, because when you do more than 30 minutes of cardio it starts to break down muscle, which is the complete opposite of what I’m trying to do! So 30 minutes is my go-to number!
Thursday – I will be working out on my own at the club during my lunch break. I’m not going to commit to a specific workout quite yet, because 1. I’m not sure what workouts we’re doing in TRX on either day, and 2. I’m not sure how sore I’m going to be after 2 days of TRX. Hopefully only either the top half or the bottom half of me is sore so I can work the other parts.
Friday – My 3rd TRX session of the week. I’m only committing to one workout today because I know myself and on Fridays when I get home from work, I tend to curl up in bed and either read, or watch Dr. Phil, or do both. So I’m going to try and ask my coach to make the TRX class really hard for me, or I’m just going to do more reps on my own while everyone else does the normal amount.
Saturday & Sunday – The weekends for me area ALWAYS so hard. I always go into them with the best of intentions, and end up failing miserably. This weekend for example, I didn’t break a sweat once. That’s a lie. It was hot outside and I did sweat a little bit due to the sun, but that doesn’t count. So I’m going to say that I 100% will get at least 1 workout in over the weekend but I’m AIMING for 2 (or 3 because it’s the long weekend!).
And there you have it, my goals, written down for you all to read and hold against me. Perfect! I guess this means a blog post every day this week to let you guys know how I’m managing to keep up with my goals! I love this blog for that reason, I know A TON of people read this so I don’t want to let you down!
Ingredients for a chocolate martini!
My weekend was a fun weekend, fairly relaxing. Friday night I didn’t do anything except make myself a chocolate martini and continue reading 50 Shades Darker (the second book). Saturday was nice because in the morning I met up with my friend Marina and we went to the mall, had brunch (and a mimosa!) and did some shopping. Thank god she was with me. I seriously have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to 1. Beauty products and 2. Hair products. Marina is a former hair dresser so she knows all the beauty tips and tricks. I was pretty committed to buying a Chanel lipstick because I’ve seen so many people use it and haven’t heard back things about it, but I’m also quite new to the whole “lipstick fad” so she convinced me to leave the Bay and go to shoppers and purchase some Smashbox tinted lip gloss samples. She’s so smart; I got 5 different lip glosses for the price of 1 Chanel lip gloss.
My original plan for going to the mall was to find a dress for my aforementioned Awards Gala. No such luck. I did find a few I found cute, but I wasn’t sold on them yet so I didn’t buy. I did however manage to stalk up on some H&M tank tops. I love H&M tank tops. For $7, you CAN’T go wrong. Check out this stripped one I got…. Oh, I’m also sipping on a nice rose wine. J.

The shirt is so pretty and neon pink. Perfect for summer time!
This afternoon, C and I went to see The Dark Knight Rises. It was AMAZING! I actually almost cried at the end, it was emotional! But the whole movie was really intense, in a good way. I’d definitely recommend. It.
