Thursday Workout Update!

Good afternoon Beautiful,
Today was such a long friggen day. I didn’t sleep well last night and it’s kicking my butt today. It took me forever to get up the strength to get out of bed. I had to wake up an extra half an hour early today  because it’s the day that C has to be at work early and I remember being up like 3 times before midnight last night, it sucked. Once I got up and going it wasn’t as bad, it also could have been the fact that I had a coffee as soon as I woke up. It’s been glorious having coffee when I first wake up in the morning, the Keurig was definitely worth every cent.
When I got to work, I was in full gear. As soon as I sat at my desk and started working off my computer, my eyes got very tired, and I was back at square one. At 11 I went and got another coffee which helped me make it through until after my workout, and just before my workout I popped a couple of B12 vitamins to see if they helped. They might have helped momentarily, but definitely not long term.
We had our third TRX session today and to be very honest with you, I reeeeeally really really didn’t want to go. Jenny had a meeting from 12:30-1, so we were like 5 minutes late getting upstairs and well, before we even got upstairs the trainer came down and escorted us out of the office and when we got upstairs, the third person in our group basically rolled her eyes at us – not cool considering we had to change the whole TRX schedule because she wanted to finish the 12 sessions 2 weeks sooner than planned. Anyways, don’t get me started on that!
The workout today wasn’t as intense as the last one… It was more upper body than lower body. I wish there were less exercises in a class, it would help me remember what we did. I remember there being burpees, squat jumps, lots of rows including one arm rows, side planks, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, and double downs. I did notice that I didn’t sweat near as much during this workout as I did in the last one, and I wasn’t as shaky either. It was a good workout though, and I did enjoy my chicken breast, salad and protein shake for lunch afterwards.
Yesterday Jenny did an upper body workout with me! It was fun to have someone workout with me, but to be honest, I wasn't used to it. The first half of the workout was just me doing a set, her doing a set. I realized half way through the workout that I wasn't even warm yet. Then it hit me. Why the hell am I just standing there while Jenny is doing her set, why am I not doing something else while she's doing her set? So about half way through I started doing another exercise while she was doing her set and got her to do another exercise while I was doing my set. THAT got the blood pumping and got me sweating. The workout went like this (these are my stats, I don't remember Jennys, nor do I know if she'd ever want me posting her stats on my blog...):
Pec Dec - 60lbs, 3 sets, 10 reps
Lat Pulldown - 60lbs, 3 sets, 10 reps
Dumbbell Chest Press - 25lbs dumbbells, 3 sets, 10 reps
One Arm Dumbbell Row - 25lbs dumbbells, 3 sets, 10 reps each side
Lateral Raise Machine - 55lbs/50lbs, 3 sets, 10 reps
Shoulder Presses - 10lbs dumbbells, 3 sets, as many reps as possible in the amount of time it took Jenny to do her set
Assisted Pull-Ups, 70lbs, 2 sets, 10 reps
Assisted Dips, 55lbs, 2 sets, 10 reps
GO US!
I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been so lazy when it comes to my food journal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still super in love with it, but I just don’t feel as motivated to write in it as I should be. Maybe I’m just getting lazy, maybe it’s because I’m always tired, maybe it’s because I get so hungry that I just prefer to eat rather than weigh everything. Today I didn’t measure my lunch because it was left over salad from last night’s dinner and every vegetable was already mixed up and I 100% did not feel like sorting through the entire salad picking everything out especially after I was finished with TRX, so I just devoured the whole salad. Who cares though, it’s salad… it’s not like I devoured a whole bag of mini eggs.
Ohh wait.
I did that last night. Yep. Another moment of weakness for Ohmie. It was after work, and we were going to the mall to go shopping for my Gala dress (more on that in a minute) and I went to the store to grab an energy drink because I was pootched again last night, and of course, the mini eggs are positioned directly below the cash, so in a moment of “oh! I’ll work these off tomorrow for sure…” I purchased the bag of mini eggs. Good news is that I threw out half the bag. GO ME!
So we went to the mall and the Gala is only a couple of weeks away so I was feeling some pressure to get a dress. A friend and I went looking on the weekend, but I seriously didn’t find anything I liked. Yesterday however, I found a couple different options and ultimately went with the most comfortable dress I had chosen. I also bought a new pair of shoes for the event. I’m a bit nervous because I haven’t really worn pumps since before I was training for my half-marathon so I’m hoping I can wear them a bit before the gala to prepare my feet. Although now that I think about it, I don’t want to get blisters BEFORE the gala, that would be disastrous! What do I do!? Help!
I’m not going to post any pictures or talk much about my dress besides the fact that it’s black and a size SMALL from Le Chateau (score! Love Small..). I don’t think anyone else will be wearing it, and I’m really excited to wear it with my new shoes and my hair all did up and some really nice chunky jewelry. J. I love fashion – can’t you tell??? I’ve been so excited to find a new dress for this event. It’s the one event all year that I actually spend a decent amount of money on. Mind you – I can wear the dresses I buy to a lot of other events and I can with the new one as well, so it’s not like I’m buying an expensive dress JUST for this event. It’s just where I like to debut my new purchases J.
I’m proud of myself for sticking to my workout plan for the week. I’ve succeeded in working out every day this week so far, it’s just the diet that I’ve obviously been slacking on. We’re going to London tomorrow night to see some friends and spend the night there. I’m excited to go to a couple of bars that I haven’t been to in so long. I’m hoping to run into some old friends. I sometimes miss London. I had a lot of friends there and a lot of people I knew. It was fun to go out because you would always see so many people that you knew and everyone is always so friendly. It’s so not like that in Toronto. Whenever I go out I’m lucky to see 1 person I already knew, and nobody is willing to make friends with you (unless you’re getting hit on of course). That’s the difference with the big city I suppose. People like to be private, and nobody (as bad as this sounds) gives a shit about you. I’m lucky to have the chance to meet people through my job. I’ve met two people that I would consider friends through my job at this point, not including the people that work for my company already.
What do you have planned for the long weekend? After London, I’m going to get my RELAX on and get a start on the third 50 Shades of Grey book! I’m scared to start reading it because everyone is telling me I’m going to go through Christan withdrawl, and I can understand. All I want to do is start that damn book, but then what when I’m done? I think I told someone I was going to buy the audiobook. I might just have to. I hope they have a good voice for Christan….
Oh! And make sure you come back before the end of the long weekend because 1. I will be blogging more and I know how much you love reading my posts! 2. I have a brand new giveaway to share with you guys! I received my sample in the mail and so I'm going to use it between now and Sunday and post some photos so you guys can see it, check out my review and enter my giveaway like CRAZY! :)
