How is your long weekend going? Mine has been very amazing so far! Friday night was kind of like a date night for C and I – it was super fun. We went out and had a few beverages at Grace O’Malley’s, and danced our bums off because there was a live band and they were REALLY GOOD! I have no idea what the band’s name was, but they were playing older rock music and it was awesome! I loved it!
On Saturday C and I went for a walk downtown and I took my Canon camera with me to photo-journal our walk! My main objective of this walk was to end up at The Healthy Butcher because I’ve heard a ton about it but I’ve never actually been there. It’s a butcher shop here in Toronto that only sells organic, locally grown, grass-fed meat and different products. I will explain more about that in a second, I want to talk about the cool places we found on our walk. Usually we walk on Queen Street towards Yonge St because it’s all fun shopping places, but today we decided to roam west instead of east and we found SO MANY cool places!! One of my favourite places was an antique store we found. Check out these pictures!

The hemp is really good, I’m going to put some in my salad! It’s jam packed full of goodness, let me type out what’s on the back of the package:
Hemp Protein – highly digestible protein; rich source of essential fatty and amino acids, antioxidant, fibre and chlorophyll.Spirulina – Dark green fresh water plankton, richest source of protein (65%) in the world, provides B-12, phytonutrients, enzymes, chorophyll.
Chlorella – Fresh water blue green algae, promotes detoxification, removes heavy metals, cleanses liver, increases growth of healthy bacteria and the planet’s richest source of chorophyll.Alfalfa Leaf – Contains more protein and calcium than milk, meat or eggs; 63% fiber and full of trace minerals, aid in alkalizing and cleansing the system.
Dandelion Lead – Promotes optimal liver and galbaldder functions, supports detoxification, purifies the blood and acts as a natural diuretic.

It was delicious!
Today C and I are doing something we’ve never done before. Babysitting. My two little cousins needed a babysitter while their parents go to see War Horse, so C and I are stepping up to the challenge! Little Audrey isn’t so little anymore, she’s like 9 years old. Luckily for me, she’s easily entertained by Family Channel On Demand and Cut The Rope on my iPad (which she is doing right now while I write this. She’s beside me, we’re hanging out in bed….. see?).
C is in the living room with little Wylder (he’s 7) playing a sports game on the Play Station move. I went out a couple of minutes ago and Wylder was dripping with sweat from sword fighting. We’re going to go see a movie in a bit – ParaNorman to be exact. I don’t know the last time I went to the movies to see a cartoon, but I’m hoping it’s super cute. I’ve seen previews so I’m thinking it will be!
Another fun thing that happened this afternoon is that I got the news that I’ve been accepted as a FitFluential Ambassador! For those who are unfamiliar with what FitFluential is, you can check out their website here, but here is a little blurb from their website about what they are:
FitFluential is a nationwide network of highly influential fitness enthusiasts sharing their journay both online and offline through multiple social media platforms. Founded in April of 2011 by Kelly Olexa, FitFluential was designed to connect health and wellness brands with their ideal target market through customized, long-term experiential and contextual marketing campaigns.
I follow a lot of different FitFluential blogs so I’m so excited and so happy to be given this opportunity to join such an amazing family of people! I can’t wait to see what this experience brings!
This weekend in terms of fitness, well, it’s been a bit rusty. As in, I haven’t worked out yet. I was so unbelievably sore yesterday from my TRX workout on Friday (remember the 107 one-legged lunges on each leg? Ya, those caught up to me yesterday via DOMS) and today is the first day I haven’t been sore, but my day today has been dedicated to laundry and downsizing all the stuff we have in our condo to try and make space for new and improved stuff. Oh right, and babysitting these two little rascals. I’m hoping to do a semi-long run tomorrow; I’m aiming for about 8km. Wish me luck! If I get through it and feel good, I’m going to do some weights. I haven’t done my own weights in a while just because I’ve had a lot of TRX during the week (2-3 times per week plus running doesn’t leave a lot of additional time for my own resistance training workouts!).
What have you done for fitness this weekend? Or are you going easy this weekend like myself?
