The Multitasking Runner And A G-Free Goodie Giveaway!

Good afternoon Beautiful,

Today has been the longest day of my life. I’ve been up since 4:30 am, and I’m fairly certain I’ve never been up that early before in my life. If you could see the amount of backspacing I’ve already done on this post, you’d be shocked. It’s a lot. Thank god for spell check. If there are any grammatical errors in this post going forward, I apologize now.

Today was the day that my department held the GoodLife Fitness Health & Wellness Leadership Summit. It was a day filled with amazing speakers who were speaking to some big wigs of some serious companies, and hopefully those big wigs took away some amazing messages from the speakers. I got the opportunity to mean some of them today! I met Marty Parker for the first time who is the CEO of Canada’s 50 Most Admired Corporate Cultures. He was wearing the most amazing suit I’ve ever seen and was such a nice guy. I heard amazing things about his speech and I have no doubts it was amazing, he is a very interesting man! I met Yvonne Camus who was a part of the first ever team to win Eco-Challenge when it was on the discovery channel. She was also quite nice and came early to watch the rest of the presenters! Talk about a supporter! Then I met Jessica Holmes who is a Canadian Comedian from Royal Canadian Air Farce. I could hear her singing and bellowing high notes and a TON of laughter… all I heard afterwards was how hilarious she was! She definitely engaged her audience and wowed all of the people who came today! Patch, the CEO of GoodLife was there and he went on first. He was a great opening to the day and even though his welcome speech was a little shorter than the rest, I heard it was a great opening and he definitely got people excited for the rest of the day. Frank Napolitano I’ve known for a while, and was so excited he was speaking today. He had great content on Corporate Wellness and has such charisma on stage, everyone loved him! Here are some pictures from today of me and some speakers (I didn’t get the chance to snap a photo with everyone unfortunately!):

Me & Patch!
Me & Jessica Holmes!
Me & Frank!
For lunch today we were provided with sandwiches. I almost debated eating the contents of the sandwich, but basically said “eff it” in my mind and ate the bread that came with the sandwiches. It was so delicious and I’m suffering for a little wheat belly now, but after such a long day I didn’t even care. I devoured them and they were SO GOOD. I’m not working out today, not from lack of time but because I was up at 4:30am, I’m giving myself a break. Last night I went for a run because I knew I wasn’t going to be working out today. I debated going on this run. First I was SO RUNNING when I got home from work. Then in the car I was like “Oh crap, I have laundry – too bad, I can’t run!”. Then I was like “Screw the laundry, I’m going running”. Then because it was so foggy out last night I was like “Hmm… the fog is thick, it’s not safe to run, I’m not running.”. Then I got home, and was like “SCREW IT I’M GOING RUNNING!”, so I took the laundry down, put it in and went out for my run while my laundry was going. Multi-tasker! I was running pretty well! I did 5.5km in about 31 minutes! I also managed to stop and pick up my prescription on my way home, so I was running with a white paper prescription bag from Shoppers for the last part of my run. I’m sure 1. The pharmacist thought I was nuts because I couldn’t speak right due to lack of breath and I was literally dripping in sweat, and 2. Anyone I passed on Spadina because who runs with a prescription bag? Lol.

Speaking of wheat belly… you know I’ve been doing some fun baking with the premade cake and bread mixes from Allergic Solutions and so far I’ve given an A+ on their stuff so far, the gals at Allergic Solutions are super excited for that too and they want to let one of you try out their products for free! YAYE GIVEAWAY!

I know, another one right? But this one is so much fun because you can be creative with how you make your delicious winnings! I used the cake mix to make gluten/dairy/sugar-free cupcakes, so I want to know what you will attempt to make with the mixes! The winner will be receiving:

1 package of yeast-free bread mix
1 package of vanilla cake mix
1 package of carob cake mix
1 package of pancake/waffle mix

All of these mixes are gluten free. I love these products because they’re gentle on my stomach, but the background of how these products came about is so inspiration and such a great story, you can check it out here. So how do you enter might you ask?

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Thank you for entering! Don’t miss the fact that you can enter daily – so there's a better chance to win if you reeeally want these products! It starts tomorrow and runs until the 19th of October at 12:01a.m. EST - so get in while you can! :)

On a random side note – I have the best boyfriend EVER. He knows how tired I am, and he bought my fav dinner ever… he’s cooking up one of his famous roasts with potatoes and he bought me a bunch of kale to have tonight. Oh my gosh he knows me so well!! He’s so great. I’m so lucky.

Even though I’m exhausted tonight, the fun part is that I don’t have to go into the office tomorrow. Our team has the day off but I had offered to go in so I could answer the phones since it was the day before the long weekend, but my boss said I didn’t have to and to just enjoy the day and do whatever work I need to do on my own time. I can’t express how much I love my boss. I mean, I love my boyfriend, but my boss is WORLD CLASS. I’ve never had such a great leader before. Moving to Toronto and applying for the job at Corporate Wellness was probably the best thing EVER. I’m a lifer man… no one can get rid of me now! :) :) :).

It’s so great and so important to love what you do, and thank god I do. I go into work every day with the goal that I want to live up to the expectations and then go above and beyond what they want in me. How many people can say that they actually WANT to do that on a day to day basis?

Anyways, today was so inspirational that I’m going to leave you tonight on this great motivating note and make myself a cocktail and devour my roast dinner.

How has your week been going? Are you doing anything fun for the weekend? Are you close to hitting your fitness goals for the week?

Stay sweet.
xoxo

  10. I would like to make a stash of treats to take to work, functions, or just to have dessert once in awhile! I am the only one in my immediate family to have a gluten issue, so it would be nice to not just have fruit at a function.
