School is VERY quickly approaching me so I've been doing a lot of thinking about what I need for school, how I'm going to take my lunch to school, what kinds of snacks I want to bring to school. The first time around in college I wasn't exactly smart when it came to eating well and taking care of myself. Needless to say, I'm on the scout for some seriously good and healthy snacks that are easy to take to school with me in my nap sack :).
I don't know if you remember my friend Davida (author of The Healthy Maven) because it's been a while since we've hung out and gone to a foodie thing together (ahem... let's SOON PLEASE!), but recently she has started working with a really cool company called Kewaza. Kewaza makes all organic, gluten free, preservative free, non GMO energy balls!
When I first opened the package and pulled out a packet of Kewaza Energy Balls, they felt really strange. I opened the package and pulled one out, and it definitely looks like health food. Being a health food pro (haha, juust kidding) I know that even though it looks funny, it may taste amaze-balls (get the pun?). I tried the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough balls as my first test, as recommended by Davida. I bit into it and OMG... it was like peanut butter buttery goodness melting in my mouth. Seriously. I sent Davida a text immediately and basically told her I was dying of how good these were.
The packages of the Kewaza are really nice, and I love their slogan "Move Mountains". It's a strong slogan, I appreciate that.
I was given 2 packages of the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, and 1 of the Red Banana Bread, Cookie Dough, Dark Chocolate Coconut and Peanut Butter. To give you an example of how simple these balls are, I'll tell you what's in the Red Banana Bread balls:
- Red Bananas
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
SERIOUSLY! Ok so I absolutely do not feel bad about eating these little guys AT ALL. In 2 balls there are anywhere from 90 calories to 240 calories and make for an amazing afternoon snack or a little post-dinner treat. I still can't get over how creamy they feel when you're eating them...
The fun news for YOU is that they want to giveaway a box of Kewaza for you to try!! YA GIVEAWAY!
Note - this giveaway is open to Canadian residents only. Sorry US fans!
